First 30 days stopped the need to urinate at night, and improved flow. I did experience back pain, reduced sex drive, and some depression. The last 6 months I only take it every third day with fewer side affects. I am 65 years old

Has helped with urine stream. Ejaculation and sex drive problems have led me to stop this medicine after about a year on it.

I have used this drug for about 7 months. It has helped in the flow of my urination only. The frequent of using the bathroom at night is twice or once, provided I did not take any liquid beyond 7pm.It has not reduced my enlargement. The side effect for me sometimes is painful ejaculation, and return of sperm to my system,as well as dizziness.

I started taking tamsulosin 0.4 mg few weeks ago. I do not have any side effects so far although I cannot tell how effective it is yet. No stuffy nose either which seems to be the most common side effect. I decided to post my review because majority of reviews are pretty scary. Remember happy customers tell 3 people and angry customers tell 3000, so the same rule applies. The side effects are usually rare, and severe side effects (scary reviews you can find in this review) are extremely rare. If your doctor recommends it, try it out. You can quit anytime if you get any side effects you cannot live with.Read More Read Less

Same experience as many others. Been taking for 5 months. Told to take a bed time. Still up 1 to 2x a nite. Pharmacist suggested 1 to 2 hours before. Mixed results. Difficulty having an erection. Minimal semen. Other than those no other side effects. Still exercise. No stuffy nose. No dizziness. Just tired of nite time wake-ups.

I do get runny/stuffy nose from it and I seem to get sick a lot, not sure if it's a direct connection or not. This seems more prevalent since my doctor increase the dose from one pill a day to two.

This medication didn't help much at all until I had Rezum. Now I'm taking it during the recovery period and it helps now. Unlike most men, I have experienced increased semen volume and ejaculation force (better than ever in my life!) Prior to Rezum I was taking two pills per day and the volume and force was even greater. Strange but true.

ZA-18 one after evening meal, 6 weeks in. Still get up every 2-3 hours to take a wiz! No major side affects. Little sinus, eyes ache and need time to focus, lower back and neck/shoulder ache. Assume these are side affects, now that I read these reviews! Sex and blanks are the same and same color. Penis did not increase to three times it's size. I want to know witch pill that guy was taking!

I was prescribed this medication to assist in passing a kidney stone. I took Tamsulosin for two days. I had the following reactions: 1. Very bad nasal congestion, especially at night; woke up with swollen tongue and throat. 2. On day two, I was extremely nauseated; I was weak, tired, and felt like I wanted to vomit. 3. Bad diarrhea all day with stomach ache. 4. Difficulty maintaining an erection, and had no ejaculate. I stopped taking the medication on day three. Immediately felt better the next morning when I woke up. Was not nauseated, the congestion was better, and I ejaculated, woo hoo! Maybe I did not wait long enough for my body to get used to Tamsulosin, but who wants these symptoms to be normal! Will wait for stone to pass normally, ugh!Read More Read Less

I have been diagnosed with neurogenic bladder, specifically Under Active Bladder (UAB) and I have been prescribed a 10 day cure of Omnic Tocas (one pill per day). The pill has a concentration of 0.4 mg tamsulosinum hydrochloride The first night I took the pill I felt dizzy soon after, the following nights I had no problem taking it. The only side effect is that my nose is constantly blocked, which I read is normal for this type of pill. I'm currently taking another pill, with the same active substance and the same concentration. I'm not sure what improvements I should expect since I'm currently wearing a catheter, so I'm not sure if my urge to urinate would be any different.Read More Read Less

Have taken this in combination with finasteride since 2005, and am very happy EXCEPT it will effect you sex life. Greatly diminishes sex drive. Prior to taking these I had 2 roto-rooter surgeries, and I have avoided the need for any more thanks to the drugs!

In the first days I felt an improvement: less urination at night, better volume also at day. BUT: lesser sex drive, low blood pressure problems during the first 2 weeks, and after 2 weeks the good result seems to fade away. ALSO: alcohol consumption seems to cancel all the positive and enhances the negative side effects.

Following a routine prostate exam my doctor suggested tamsulosin as he said I had an enlarged prostate, I had not actually complained of any related problems but my doctor recommended that I take this medicine. I have had a problem with not emptying my bladder, the medicine did mean that I needed to urinate less frequently and there was of course a greather volume of urine when I did urinate. The major problem was the inability to obtain an erection and I had not previously had any problems of this nature. After 2 weeks I called my doctor and he advised me to stop taking the medicine. The erections problems took a couple of weeks to get back to something like normal, but I do not think it is as it was before. Now I am back to where I started by sexual function is not as before. Be very wary of this product and ask your doctor to explain all side effects before taking it.Read More Read Less

69yo, and this, to me, is a wonder drug. I was having problems eliminating at night - it would take two or three minutes to go, and I got, at best, a very puny stream (although during the day I seemed to be fine). Had a check up with my urologist, and the first thing she did was have me eliminate, then did an ultrasound on my bladder, and there was STILL 267ml of urine in the bladder (equal to three of the vials you would use for a urine sample, 90ml each). The day after I started tamsulosin, I was back to normal urination, AND my libido seems to be better (without viagra!).Read More Read Less

I am an 88 yr old male who had problems urinating particularly at night. I was prescribed tamsulosin by a urologist. It has worked out well and I am now in my second year without the difficulties.

62 y.o. male. It did help with easing urine flow, but had to quit because of the side effects: stuffy nose in the morning, water retention leading to migraine headache, retro-ejaculation. After quitting lost 3 Lbs immediately in 3 days - all water. Tried other alpha-blockers, but all had these and other side effects
