I have ADD - I space out to what is going on around and have memory issues, even when I really try not to let it happen, and it is very embarrassing for me. I REALLY feel a difference when using this. I stopped using this for a while bc I was ordering online and just didn't get to it for a couple months. But after reordering and taking it again - I am writing this review. I have to say that i ...

I recently started to take this supplement and I’m very pleased with its effectiveness so far. I’m feeling more energized and I’ve also noticed my mood and memory have improved. I have a lot of responsibilities at work which caused me to sometimes forget things that are of importance such as opening my email at work before I started to work. This past week I’m now recollecting that no one asked if my email was up because I had it up first thing in the morning and was responding to messages timely. My brand is Nutricost. I chose this brand because it’s third party tested.Read More Read Less

I had a large benign tumor removed from my brain a year ago and I’ve been experiencing nerve pain in that area while I wait for the nerves to grow back and heal. Recently, I’ve gotten a tightening in that area and it is painful. I’ve had this several days in a row. I went back to taking the Acetyl l-carnitine twice a day, two pills, 500 mg each, Now product. And it has not re-occurred. I’m happy to read all the other benefits people have received from this and will continue to take it. No stomach problems for me. Read More Read Less

I'm a type 1 diabetic with neuropathy, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, cognitive decline, depression and some other things... This definitely helped with my erectile dysfunction, fatigue and depression on day 2. It did have a side effect on my stomach, though. That's a side effect I'll take over all the terrible conditions I've listed above.

I have been taking Acetyl L-Carnitine in ALCAR powdered form on-and-off for nearly a decade. I initially stumbled across it when looking for supplements to enhance fat loss as part of a diet with lowered carbohydrate intake; but have continued to take it for many years since due to its overall positive effects on my wellbeing. I cannot prove or vouch for any effects re. weight/fat loss whilst using it as part of my stack, as the foundations of the success undeniably were due to nutrition and exercise; but I can absolutely vouch for what it does for my brain. Having taken it both before and after being formally diagnosed with, and medicated for ADHD, I can confirm a noticeable difference when taking a dose of ALCAR on an empty stomach. My mind is clearer, works more efficiently, and I seem to be more resilient to the distractions I usually suffer from, even on top of my medication. Without it, I am more likely to reach for coffee, and struggle with executive dysfunction. Having always sourced high quality variants, and taken it at the suggested dose, I have never suffered any ill effects whatsoever. I tried tablets briefly, but have found simply tipping the scoop of powder into my mouth and washing it down is the most effective way. (It's an acquired taste, but I oddly like it now) After having tinkered with a huge array of supplements over the years, Acetyl L-Carnitine is one of the few I have always stuck with, and image I'll continue to do so indefinitely.Read More Read Less

Have been using L-Carnitine for a couple of years and have seen a difference in my body, alertness and youthfulness. Just turned 60 and look better than in my 50s! Muscles responding quickly after training sessions! Very little soreness after! Amazing plus! If you are getting some loose bowls, May I suggest miso soup… twice a week … for IBS sufferers as well. It’s benefit are many! This is from first hand experience! ;)

Have some neuropathy, narrowing of the spine causing pain, and have always had difficulty with reading retention. Since taking this I have experienced relief with all of these. It even seems to help increase my ability to feel surfaces that had declined due to type 2 diabetes.

Hey WebMd. Before you keep saying there is 'no good evidence to support these claims' you should do a little better research. This is a quote from 'PubMed.gov' Website that publishes findings from the 'National Library of Medicine': Quote 'Studies have shown that ALC may be of benefit in treating Alzheimer's, dementia, depression in the elderly, HIV infection, diabetic neuropathies, ischemia and reperfusion of the brain, and cognitive impairment of alcoholism.' Unquote How about it, WebMD??

I have been using Acetyl-L-Carnitine 500 mg to help my workouts and recovery. I can maintain a high level of energy during a 45 minute workout and my recovery is much quicker. Also, post-workout muscle soreness is significantly reduced. I take two (1,000 mg total) each morning before food. One 500 mg before lunch.

I've been taking acetyl-L-carnitine for years whenever I have bouts of neuropathy in my feet and legs. It has worked for me to greatly relieve the pain.

I started taking this 500 mg, two in the morning on empty stomach and two with lunch about 15 days ago in an attempt to increase my energy levels. Haven’t really noticed that effect, however, since my early 20’s, I developed moles and tags all over my back. I read a review here from 2017 that said it was a miracle cure for moles, tags, etc. which caught my attention, but thought who knows, maybe it will help mine. Because I really don’t see my back, my wife freaked this morning and said “oh my gosh, your moles are going away and fading completely!” I just looked at my back in the mirror and was also stunned! I don’t know how or why this supplement worked in me like that, but it’s quite stunning. My wife seems to thing they may all disappear in the next month. I will be taking my 2000 mgs. daily and keep you posted! Using Puritan’s Pride 500 mg Free Form.Read More Read Less

I gave my late mother who suffered from severe dementia ACL one day, on the third day, she shocked me by talking like a normal person without dementia. I give 5 stars to this supplement and I am taking it daily.

Moles, skin tags, and other growths on my skin have gone into remission since using Acetyl-L-Carnitine. It's like a miracle product. I told my doctor I call it my "spot remover", as all the skin abnormalities have been disappearing when I started taking one 500 mg capsule every morning. Doctor looked at me like I was nuts, but it really works! Purchased Acetyl-L-Carnitine, 500 mg capsules produced by Now Foods, 200 veg capsule bottle, from Amazon. I mention this as Now Foods is not listed on the Brand chart associated with this article.Read More Read Less
