Started taking this when first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes .Helps keep blood sugars low . Have been taking it for 2 yrs now with my rx meds .I have not taken them a few times and my blood sugar levels raised.This proved to me how well they work

Type 2 diabetic. Since usage is about 8 months noticed overall decrease in any pain in feet. Have more sensations, nerves, etc. in feet. Recent DR test showed very good responses. Use in conjunction with B6. I am NOT taking any diabetic meds (lost 50 lbs to ensure that!).

I started about 6 mo. ago with 100 mg. and noticed minimal difference. I then increased it to 600 mg. and immediately had big improvement. My reason for taking it is I had 2 spinal surgeries, also chemotherapy. Wonderful product. I use Sundown Naturals from Rite Aid.

i have been taking ala for 3 yrs. it has helped my legs a great deal, i take it twice a day, my dr. started me taking it, after other high priced treatments didn't work.

i have poly cystic ovarian syndrome, which usually comes along side insulin resistance. so i thought id try ala since it works similar to metformin but has no side effects. i take 100mg regularly, and have done for over a year and can definitly say it helped! i did feel a bit sick when i first took it but it was just a mild nausia, so i beleive it was just my body getting used to a different chemical balance/motabilism as after the 1st couple of tablets (days) i started to feel amazing! i looked less gray, my anxieties started to dissapear, i lost over a stone in weight (7kg, 14lb) and had more energy. i think its definitly something to try. ive looked into it alot since as i was so surprised with my own results and i feel genuinly lucky, and amazed i stumbled onto it.Read More Read Less

I started using this about a month ago and it seems to be working for me as of now...I am still warily testing it.

Experiencing neuropathy in my leg associated with Diabetes Type 2, I tried ALA after reading it may have a good effect. After 1 month, neuropathy was reduced and after 2 months, completely gone. I have had no side effects, though I also have high blood pressure for which I take Toprol XL (200 mg. 2x a day). I have been taking ALA for about 4 months now. I take a low dosage...250 mg. 1 a day. (NOW is the brand). It works great for me!

Used to suffer terribly from neuropathy in my feet. I'm non-diabetic and when I started taking was on no prescription drugs. Started taking 200-300 mg per day in divided doses. Now, 5-6 years later, take 900-1,200 per day in divided doses. A real life saver for me.

I started with 100 mg and, after a year, upped it to 200 mg. I take with others like folic acid, zinc, selenium etc and am happy with the treatment. Start with low dose.

I didn't have a good reaction at first, but now I actually think that alpha lipoic acid really helped me. I feel healthier and more energized. If you get a trustworthy brand at a well known store, I think that it can actually do some good in the body.

Has not improved my liver function tests. also the first three times that I urinate after taking thie suppliment my urine smells like SKUNK URINE, not a good smell!!

All acid reducers gave my mouth and tongue a burning pain. Slowly increasing the acid reducer dosage was not enough. The first 19 days of taking 600 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid went okay. After that the headaches and tiredness began. It was obvious the Alpha Lipoic was interfering with my Levothyroxin. This is day 6 off the herb but so far no more pain. i have some kind of either neuropathy or maybe carpal tunnel syndrome and I have been taking it at 600 mg a day and i'm pretty sure it is helping the pain go away, even after only a week

I havent been taking it very long, hope it can help.
