You MUST drink lots of water for this medication to work effectively, because it works by taking water from the body and putting it into the stool. No water, no soft stool.

Is it harm to take once in a week. Is there any drug to introduce thru rectum? Delcolawx is laxative or stool softner

I take 500mg capsules form per night, along with an herbal product that contains, among other things, Senna. The combination enables me to move my bowels each morning. I take 300mg Tramadol, and 500mg Soma daily. Without the Stool softener and herbal product I strain to move my bowels every other day. With them it is regular and without strain. Works well for me.

Due to severe hemorrhoids/constipation, my doctor advised me to use this medicine. I took the pill first thing in the morning and drank 64 oz of water during that day. Within 24 hours I had the results I hoped for - less formed (very soft) stool but NO diarrhea or cramping. It was amazing. 64 oz of water the day I took the pill.

i was on opiate pain killer from total knee replacement 8 years ago, very hard stools and constipation. i took 2 at bed time and problem solved. after that i took a stool softener every time i took hydrocodone for pain. for the past 4 years i have taken 1 daily, cvs store brand 100mg docusate sodium with no side effects. i also take HCTZ and lisinopril for HBP. and VOLTAREN for ARTHRITIS lower back pain, no more hydrocodone for me. ARTHRITIS back pain controlled by daily VOLTAREN and hard stools controlled by daily docusate sodium (stool softener).Read More Read Less

I took this medicine Saturday night at 8 pm and it's now Sunday at 11.30 pm and I have had diarrhea all day and even now. I can't eat anything. Drinking water seems to make it worse. I took the pill because I hadn't had a bowl movement in almost 2 days and was having pain. Now I'm having pain because my stomach is so empty. I have no clue what to do. I do know that this is the last time I will listen to my dad's advice.
