I was prescribed this drug by a Brain & Spine specialists, following an auto accident which further aggravated my spine & neck plus created additional, new damage including ligament damage, herniated discs, and pinched cervical & spinal nerves. The overall body pain (joint, nerve, muscular) was so strong & constant for 4 months I could not sleep. The Spine guy prescribed this as a muscle relaxer...

When I read the side affects, I was like, why would anybody take a drug that has these side affects? Massage, exersize and a chiropractor helped me. Still working on feet. Alternative medication for me!

Baclofen caused me to have a terrible pain in both of my ankles. It felt like my ankles were tightening up so tight it would wake me up at night.

I take this 2x day with other meds, so I haven't experienced being sick. I eat something like cerial or a banana along with Zantac 150. Since it is bed time anyway and being tired is a plus. The AM doseage is another thing. I just Bogart through it. After a few days I really don't notice it anymore as I just adjusted. But the plus far outweighs any minuses. For the first time in years I can get up and move without being so stoved up after taking flexural. So if it works for you I suggest giving it a few days. Read More Read Less

I'm glad I didn't read the bad reviews on this drug before hand, but it's good to know that this drug affects everyone differently. I have Chiari and Syringomyelia, and am 2.5 years post-op. My condition is not curable, and my symptoms are life changing. I have not been on narcotic pain medication as I want to address my severe spasticity first. Baclofen was ordered after 1 year of Robaxin (quit working) and 1 year of Tizanidine. I will admit that it is a strange titration period, but I have not experienced anything that would make me give up trying this medication. I did have really bad esophageal spasms but they went away after a few pretty uncomfortable days. I have really only experienced frequent urination. As far as drowsiness and brain fog, those are symptoms of my condition already. Adding Baclofen did not increase these drastically, but I am sleeping better. I wake up coughing in my sleep, which has been going on since surgery, and I still have numbness on my left side and in my extremities. I have not noticed much of a difference. However, the severe pain around my T4 vertebrae has been somewhat relieved (stably progressing syringomyelia syrinx). Am going to give this medication 6 months to see how comfortable I am/am not before waving the white flag and going to pain management.Read More Read Less

Waste of my time. I was prescribed this for breakthrough pain. I had high hopes it would help but it did nothing as prescribed.

This medication made me feel like I was going to lose my mind...The first dose made me nauseous, dizzy and no relief in my muscles. I continued for 7 days, and on the 7th day called my Doc and went back to Tizanidine. Be your own doctor and look up the appropriate starting doses and frequency. Taken at too high a dose and/or frequency will make you feel like you are loosing your mind. Weight does have a bearing on dosing amounts. Do your homework on this drug.

Kept me awake all night on and off. Does not help with the pain hardly at all. Makes me sick to my stomach. Still dizzy and sick over 12 hours later. Gave me a bad stomachache and I took it with food.

I have facial tics, neck tics, and teeth grinding tics. I first started this medication about a year and a half ago (mid 2016) and it's been a great help in reliving me from not only the embarrassment I feel, but the pain in the muscles. I've never had any sort of side effects other than perhaps drowsiness. It hasn't made my tics completely stop, but it severely reduces how often they occur.

I have had muscle spasms in my left shoulder blade since I tore a muscle there almost 20 years ago. I don't have spasms daily, but only at times when I'm under severe stress. I used to take flexeril, but when I turned age 65 ten years ago, my doctor switched me to baclofen. 10mg, 3 times a day. It's far more effective than flexeril and has fewer side effects. Baclofen prevents all muscle spasms and has the added benefit of helping me sleep soundly. I only take them at times when I'm under stress, and I have no withdrawal problems when I stop taking them. The only drug interaction problem occurred when I also took an over-the-counter sleep aid, and then I didn't waken in spite of repeated phone calls with the ringer turned up and the phone sitting right next to me, so I never take both at the same time. Baclofen has been wonderful for my condition. Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this medication for back spasms. I was able to sleep and it took about 30 minutes to be fully awake. I've taken it throughout the day but haven't suffered from drowsiness. A little disappointed because the muscle spasms come back after 4-5 hours but I'm thankful that I have a few hours during the day where I don't feel like death.

Originally started taking this for chronic acute degenerative arthritic pain in my neck and pain from onset Osteoporosis. Although it has not helped with my pain, it definitely helps me to sleep. I wasn't getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep for the last 6 months, but once I started on Baclofen (20mg at night), I am able to sleep within an hour (unless I am highly anxious about something, then I just can't sleep). But after trying everything to sleep, this is the only thing that has helped me get a full night's sleep.Read More Read Less

Taking 5-10 mg once daily for trigeminal neuralgia. I didn't expect it to help with the pain, which it doesn't, but it does help me to sleep all night. First step in treatment. Since it comes in 10mg tablets, I have to cut them in half.

I have degenerative arthritis in my neck and back, and Osteoporosis. I also have a sleep disorder and haven't slept more than 4-5 hours/night since November 2016. Baclofen does not even touch the pain, BUT - I got my FIRST 7.5 hours sleep in 6 months. 5 stars for sleeping and no stars for pain.
