I love this birth control. I see a lot of bad reviews but I have been using it for over 4 years now and compared to others I have tried it is the best. For me, on this dose I have never gotten a period. Every few months I have very light spotting during the time the time one should have a period with this drug. My doc says it is fine, I do not ovulate on this med. I have never gained any weight on...

My old birth control was discontinued. I was taking it successfully for 4 years. I was prescribed this birth control instead. I was pregnant in less than one month. Beware!

Ive been taking this pill for well over 6 mths. Initially, I bled for almost 6 weeks, while my body adjusted to the hormones. My doctor continued to reassure me to continue taking it. Finally the bleeding stopped, days into the 2nd pack of pills. I started the pill to regulate irregular periods. My period has been more irregular since starting. Out of a 3 week pack, I usually only have maybe 2 solid weeks where I don't bleed at all. That's the equivalent of having a period every 2 weeks! It's just not worth it for me!Read More Read Less

I switched from Azurette to this about 8 months ago due to cost mostly. But this pill had way worse side effects for me. Weight gain and anxiety. Ive never had anxiety in my life. The anxiety was so bad I started to constantly feel my heart racing. I also started realizing every month before I would start my period I would get a bad set of heart palpitations. The ONLY positive about this pill is my boobs stopped hurting.. That's it. Switching today. (I shouldve switched before now)

Now in my mid to late 30's I find that any birth control seems to make me foggy in the head, and it's very hard to think clearly. I also feel sad often when on this birth control.

I've been on this pill for about 5 months now, and I hate it. My periods are very irregular, which they never used to be on the last bc I took. That's the reason I got on BC, for period regulation. Either it comes 2 weeks early or it doesn't come at all, or I spot for a day when i'm supposed to get it. I have horrible mood swings, lashing out at everyone, and crying over EVERYTHING! I also have random cases of nausea. My acne has gotten worse, it pops up everywhere. My boobs are so sore and tender to the point where I can't even touch them. This pill also makes me really constipated, which I never had problems with before. I feel like i'm pregnant with this pill, I take monthly pregnancy tests, but they have been negative. I will be calling my doctor after the holidays to switch pills. I wouldn't recommend this pill to anyone, but that is just me. The negatives definitely outweigh the positives.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this drug for about 3.5 months with little issue. I've noticed a few side effects. The one I don't mind is breast tenderness and enlargement! I could take more soreness if it meant they got even bigger! My appetite swings wildly, some days I'm very hungry, others not at all, but maybe that's just my body! The only very annoying thing is that I find myself very easily crying. Not Moody, irritable or depressed, but it takes very little to make me cry now, any touching story does it! Overall, it's nothing I can't handle, and the pill is easy to take (very small) and portable. Read More Read Less

I only tried this medication to see if it would help minimize my anxiety during PMS, come to find out it did not. I have hot flashed and sweat at night for the last 3 weeks, I stopped the pill almost 2 weeks ago and still have not gotten my period. 3 negative pregnancy tests. I am not sure when I will know when I am regular again. I have never been on a pill that when you stop the pill, you don't get your period other than the Depo Shot. I would not recommend this pill to try to regulate a person, but everyone is different.Read More Read Less

I've been taking this for a year and my periods are semi-normal..it still comes around the time it's supposed to either 3 days before or 3 days after. My periods are HORRIBLE with this medication. I have the worst cramps (which I never really experiences before) to where I can't hardly get out of bed without feeling sick. I tried to switch birth controls many times but my doctors told me to wait it out to see if my body would adjust at some point. It never did, if you have these symptoms switch meds!Read More Read Less

Microgestin 1/20 is great. I've had no major side effects and I'm feeling very well. I tried Lo Loestrin Fe but it made me bleed everyday. Microgestin 1/20 is still a very low dose pill but with a bit more estrogen than Lo Loestrin Fe so I didn't get all that bleeding. Microgestin 1/20 is a keeper and I'm going to stick with it.

I recently switched from NuvaRing to Microgestin. I liked the ease of Nuva Ring, but it was too expensive and I didn't want it anymore. I was very nervous to change and had only ever been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo before and had horrible weight gain, went up 2 cup siizes and felt terrible. I expressed every concern with my doctor and she went over a few different rxs then ended up with this one. I am happy so far, one month in. No moodiness and actually more libido than with NuvaRing. And it is half as expensive as NuvaRing. My only concern is missing a mothly period, but that is not really anegative for me. Read More Read Less

I have been on this pill for a few years and have not had any trouble with unusual mood swings, weight gain or lack of sex drive. The pill regulated my periods for the first couple of years, but they got lighter and lighter and finally stopped, and I have been using a home pregnancy test every few months to relieve mental stress. As my period disappeared I also became dryer and dryer until vaginal intercourse was nearly impossible unless I received oral sex first. I still produced a lubricant after orgasm. I thought about chancing a different pill, but I had been very satisfied with this one for the first few years and was reluctant to change. Although my period is still gone I have made good progress countering this vaginal dryness by making sure to stay hydrated.Read More Read Less

I was recently on OrthoTri and that was working for me. Recently my doctor switched me to Microgestin 1/20 and I absolutely despise the birth control. My period started two days before my sons birthday (Oct 5th: this is not my complaint) and today is Oct 29 and I AM STILL BLEEDING. Its not heavy at all normally only a little in the pad, little when I wipe, or little when I pee. Some people do want to have sex. Aggravated to the max! I am hoping this is due to the birth control change and that next month my cycle will regulate. Other wise my doctor will be taking these pills back and changing my birth control again.Read More Read Less

This pill is awesome! It's my first birth control pill and it is working great for me. My acne has gotten better and I know when to expect my period. I am on my third month and so far have not had any mood swings, awful breakouts or gained weight! You should really consider if you're in the market for a bc! :)

Took it for about 4-5 months. It worked well and during the time I should have my period I only had light spotting which I liked. The only thing was that it made me super moody and it made my boobs SHRINK! I never heard of that happen before with a pill! But I went from a C to a B starting on the 2 month. The month after I got off it my boobs came back to their normal size. Birth control IS different for everyone, huh?

I have been on this medication for about 3 months. I like it because my moods are MUCH better than on previous birth controls I've tried. The complaints I do have are that my breasts are extremely sore the 2nd and 3rd week of my pack then it goes away the week before my period. Very strange! Guess no hormonal birth control is perfect-wouldn't that be nice?
