I HAVE BEEN TAKING THIS DRUG FOR 9 MONTHS. IN THE BEGINNING IT CAUSED A HEADACHE WHICH IT MADE HARD TO SLEEP. I TALKED TO MY DOCTOR AND HE CUT THE DOSAGE IN HALF. THE HEADACHE SUBSIDED AND AFTER 3 MONTHS I WENT BACK TO NORMAL DOSAGE AND HAVE BEEN WITHOUT HEADACHE SINCE. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY OF MY CHEST PAIN WHAT SO EVER AND HIGHLY RECOMENED THIS DRUG.

I have to be satisfied with the drug because it completely alleviates the angina pectoris. I discontinued it because of headaches 3 years ago; but have started again because it works: 100%. But headaches are constant. Hope they decrease with time.

After taking the medication in the AM, my head starting hurting and continued all day. Later in the day I could hardly stand the pain was so bad, then the vomiting starting and lasted all night. It took 2 days before my headache subsided. I still feel the affect and will never take it again. I would rather have the pain in my chest than in my head.

After only three days and taking tylenol extra strength every 4 hours, I could no longer deal with the severe headache, which was debilitating. I used ice bags for the pain. I am ok this morning since the drug ran its course overnight but I refuse to continue with it. My angina pain was very minimal and only occasional and the pill under the tongue was effective for those times. I cannot tolerate this drug. This was the second attempt, the first one about three years ago with the same results. Read More Read Less

I have had three stints in the coronary artery; I am on 15 mg a day, which I take in the morning. Headaches are bad, Tylenol helps, but I also suffer from migraines. Have had some eye problems esp. over the side with the headache. I have had a fast heartbeat, but taking more blood pressure medication relieves this. I have more energy.

This drug works for me but when I first take it I am tired for about 5 to 6 hours then I am wide awake. So, if I take it in the morning, I need a long nap (three hrs)in the morning. If I take it at night, I only sleep for 5 or 6 hours. I also have very wierd dreams and don't feel as if I have rested well when I wake up. I am trying to plan my day around how to take this drug. I am taking Cardiac Rehabilitation Physical Therapy so I took this medication about 6a.m and by 8:30a.m. was ready for a nap. I slept until 11:30a.m. but felt tired for another hour before I could get to my daily tasks or get ready for P.T at 1:30p.m.Read More Read Less

This medication isosorbide MN ER type gave me bad headaches and I tried everything to stop them. I didn't want to stop the medication because it lowered my high blood pressure. I tried aspirin, ibuprofen, aleve, and acetaminophen and none of them worked. Then I remembered when I took saunas I could take the heat longer if I took a teaspoon of cayenne powder in about six ounces of water around fifteen minutes before getting in the sauna. The cayenne numbs your whole body so you don't feel the heat as much and is easier to tolerate the heat. Today I had a bad headache from my isosorbide MN ER (30 MG 2 x a day) and I took a teaspoon of the cayenne in water and my headache stopped in about fifteen minutes. Hope this helps somebody having headaches from this medication. Read More Read Less

Recently diagnosed with diastolic heart failure, and was given this drug because I was experiencing throat burning, my angina. It made me very conscious of my heart. With his medicine, I have no discomfort and can feel normal.

I take first dose at 6AM, it takes about 2 hours to work, then is gone by 4PM. Recently, I started taking a second dose at 3PM and so far it gets me through the day except for that first 2 hours. At first it reacted badly with Benedryl and I quit the Benedryl. No headaches or other side effects so far.
