I took Primatine Mist over 10 years for occasional asthma attacks. Primatine Mist is being withdrawn from the market in Dec. 2011 because its propellant CFC interferes with the ozone layer and causes global warming. I changed to Albuterol inhalant as a replacement. Albuterol is not as strong as Primatene. Primatene took effect in seconds and caused a brief cough and had lingering feelings in the throat. Albuterol takes effect gradually over ten minutes with fewer side effects. Both last long enough to get me over the asthma attack. I am pleased with Albuterol as a replacement for Primatene Mist.Read More Read Less

Without this medication I could not get up and be active, without stopping,( or sitting). to return my breathing to near normal. After a treatment, the effects last up to four hours, then another treatment is necessary to stay active. If not active, I can go to about six hours before needing the nebulizer.

I've had my Daughter and Grandson use it when they've been horribly sick with chest congestion & they breath so much better & the sick/chest congestion issues are so minimal.Read More Read Less

Works wonders on my asthma, but take note of potential interactions with other drugs. I am also on amitriptilyn, and took both these drugs in a short period of time, and ended up with chest pain so horrible I nearly went to the ER- the pain did subside after some time, but I could it being a much larger issue for somebody with a higher dosage.

I use it for emergencies only because though it works amazingly well, it leaves me shaking, dizzy, tired, and weak, usually to the point where I need to lie down or nap after two puffs.

Jordan is 6 months old and recently said to have asthma. We have been using albuterol about a month and it's really helped a lot...Just asks like a hyper/jittery nut for a little while after his breathing treatment.

This medication works wonders. Whether I am going into an asthma attack or just need it, it is amazing. I have been taking 2 doses daily for 15 years now. When I'm sick I take it more often as suggested by my doctor. This is so nice because it lasts and I rarely ever have symptoms from my asthma. Long lasting and very helpful!
