I started the pill since I am getting married in two months. I was on Yasmine 28 when I was in my 20s for acne. I asked my doctor for Yasmine and she refused to give it tome, instead gave me Aviane. I LOVED it for the active pills. I took it at night after dinner. It was amazing but when I got to the placebo pills it DESTROYED my face!!!! I felt like a monster. My forehead and chin had huge pimples and redness was out of control. I have to look for another dose of hormones that help my skin. I wish I could have kept this pill but NOT FOR SKIN PRONE TO ACNE! I've been on Aviane for 3 months.. I've had swelling in my legs and feet, headaches and some acne. Overall, it's good

I have been on aviane for 4 years and I've never had any problems. I would recommend this product to anyone. No serious side effects beside maybe a little moody when taking it for the first few months and has been effective. I would not change my birth control to anything else!

I was on this medication for approximately 8 months before needing to switch to a different BC pill. I loved that my doctor was letting me take it back to back (skipping placebos). My skin overall was pretty clear however would have bouts where it would flare up and break out a lot on my chest. However I began spotting constantly after 6months of taking it. I also noticed that my migraines increased. I had one migraine at age 18 and didn't have one again until I started this med. On Aviane, I was having migraines atleast once per month. Not to mention I was frequently moody, often lashing out at people when I would normally just get a little irritated. I also felt as though I was constantly hungry on this. I started taking this birth control pill after being off of the pill for two years. I gained 10 lbs during the five months that I was on it, and I felt hungry all the time. I was also extremely tired while I was on this pill, I felt like I could seep all day and I felt depressed. I also experienced severe breast pain, something that I have never had a problem with before taking this pill. I have been off the pill for almost a month now, and the breast pain has completely gone away and I've noticed that my energy levels have increased. Read More Read Less

I took this medication for about six months and had to stop taking it. I have never struggled with acne, but my face was constantly broken out from this medication, and as soon as I stopped taking it the acne went away. Also gained about 30 pounds and have not been able to lose a single pound of it. However, it did help with my mood swings. Overall, I would never take this medication again and wouldn't recommend.

This product has caused severe migrains it had me in the hospital for 3 days. Terriable product for Migrainers. Switch back to Depo.

I started using this after my original birth control, Loestrin 24 (which was AMAZING) was discontinued. The only bad side effect I noticed was HORRIBLE acne on my forehead, some on my cheeks and chin, as well as some on my chest. I did not have mood swings,depression, anxiety and my period always came on time every month, which were good. The only reason I need to switch from this birth control was the fear that the acne my body was producing would scar my face.

I am very new to birth control pills. Last month was my first month on the pill. My doctor originally prescribed me Junel. By the 2nd or 3rd day I was an emotional, paranoid, anxious mess and by the 5th day I was breaking out like crazy (huge cysts that I rarely get normally). I continued breaking out for the duration of the pack. I was extremely unsatisfied with that brand and asked my doctor for a change immediately. As soon as I finished my first pack of Junel I switched over to a generic form of Aviane (called Falmina). I had light spotting the first few days since I skipped my period but no other symptoms...no anxiety, not overly emotional, etc. I also haven't broken out once since I started this pack and I'm a week in to it. I started this birth control and after a few days my leg went numb and i had trouble sleeping. I also became very moody and my doctor told me to immediatly stop the pills just after 8 days. I had many blood tests to check for blood clots and after a week of being off these pills my body felt so much better. This was the worst birth control i have ever tried. Now i am on a new birth control and feel so much better. I would not recommend.

I started taking this pill for a week and haven't noticed any side effects besides a bit of improvement in acne.

I wanted to get on the pill for 2 main reasons: inconsistent periods and birth control. My doctor prescribed Sprintec, but upon reading the reviews, the was no way in hell I was going to put that product in my system. I asked my doctor for other options and she gave me a list of birth control pills that Kaiser has in their pharmacy. I reviewed each one in detail and kept coming back to Aviane. Although some reviews claimed that it caused nausea, stomach cramps, and a significantly decreased sex drive, I had a good feeling about it and went with my gut. First week out, I didn't experience any problems. During the second week, I started to experience the nausea, but was able to quickly correct that by making sure to have a little snack after taking my pill -- my "pill crackers." By the third week, I noticed how awesome my skin was looking. I have always had a problem with acne and Aviane has cleared it right up. One dramatic positive effect I have noticed is an increased sex drive -- not just a little, but by A LOT. My drive is high naturally, but this is like a sex drive on 5 shots of espresso. On the other hand, one negative effect is that I notice I experience more nausea when I have too much sugar. As a proud chocoholic, this doesn't exactly please me, but I suppose it is best as it decreases my sugar intake. If you are debating about which birth control pill to take, for whatever reason, I strongly recommend trying Aviane. It is very easy to use (I take mine at 7:30 every evening because I know I will be awake and aware at that time and will never miss it). I don't take pills in general, but I am actually excited to take my pill every day and I set an alarm on my phone to remind me in case I am busy. It is important to keep in mind that pills will affect all of us differently and, unfortunately, there is no one universal "perfect" pill. Aviane happens to be mine and I have no plans to change. I love this birth control! I have zero acne, cramps, or side effects! It even helped with my depression and anxiety. I recommend this brand whole heartedly.

I strongly disliked my experience with Aviane. I took it for only five days and had to stop because it effected me so much. First off, it made me SO emotional to the point where I cried for three hours straight. I have never felt so out of control and overwhelmed before. It made me feel so unlike myself, extremely emotional and anxious. It made my skin break out really badly in just the five days I took it. It made me really nauseous, increased my appetite and gave me absolutely NO sex drive. Overall I realized very quick that this wasn't right for me and my doctor told me to stop taking it. I've been on Aviane for 2 months now. FOR ME (And I emphasize that because BC reacts differently for everyone), I love it. I have not had any side effects from the BC. I got my period as scheduled even while on the active pills, but I noticed that I did not have any painful cramping which I usually do. My period was also very light. So far, I love the birth control. I also have not gotten pregnant yet which is great :)

I got on Aviane to prevent pregnancy but also because my periods are SO heavy, I lose so much blood i come near to passing out. For the first 2 days all was well. Then I started 'breakthrough' bleeding and it was awful. As the days went by, the bleeding becamse worse and daily cramping. I felt tired from all the blood loss and unmotivated thanks to the cramping (left work early on several occasions). Finally I got to the placebo pills and had a period that was by far the WORST periods (heavy bleeding) I have ever had. The only good thing I can say is that it cleared up my acne within 48 hours and had minimal moodiness. I just wanted to write a positive review because everyone's were so negative and i was afraid to start taking this after reading about it. i didn't gain any weight, my boobs got a little bigger, and my skin stayed as clear as it always had been. i still get slight period cramps but overall its SO much lighter and only lasts 3 days which is awesome. i would definitely recommend :) don't be scared of all these negative reviews!

I Took This for about 2 Months and got off of it because I was Losing My Hair. I have PCOS it kind of goes with the territory, I switched to something else and had horrible acne and I was Bloated to I thought A multi Would help so I switched back to this. I Still lost my Hair due to My "Free Testosterone" being off the charts for a woman. I had no bloating or weight change no cravings, my skin is so so, I have No sex drive, and Im still losing my hair. Im changing this as soon as possible. I am 46 years old and went on Aviane (lo dose) for mild acne. I am 5'3" and weigh 122. I didn't have any sickness, but did notice a HUGE increase in my appetite! Also, after 2 days already felt a decrease in sex drive. Both of those are side effects I can't tolerate. I stopped taking the pill after one week.

I've been taking this for 2.5 weeks now. No weight gain, No acne. Just a regular appetite, no increase or decrease. No sex drive, just not in the mood. Wish i had an increase in breast size but this didn't do. No dryness to the vagina. Feeling normal besides the low sex drive.
