I have had very good results with this medication. I am a crohn's disease patient and so also get duodenal ulcers and have had a GI hemorrhage which was also treated with pantoprazole. I am also a practical Nurse with 20yrs experience. One thing I would like to address is the comments regarding the generic versions of the medication. A generic MUST have exactly the same medicinal ingredient as...

I have Barret's esophagus and was switched to this because insurance stopped covering Nexium. This does nothing for me. I have horrible heartburn and burning in my gut all the time now. It's the worst.

I was switched from prilosec to protonix and the pharmacy gave me to generic pantoprazole. I have had nausea, acid reflux and constipation for the past three days and I have only taken the drug for five days. I'm going to talk to my doctor on Monday to see whats going on.

I have been taking protonix - it worked great, then I went to this generic, Pantoprazole - it does not work at all, I thought generics were the same as the original drug. I hurt with this drug as much or more when I wasn't taking anything. I am confused.

My pharmacy also switched my last refill from Protonix to Pantoprazole. I started getting heartburn daily and excessive gas... it is not the same. I thought generics were chemically equivalent??

I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews. I have taken Protonix for 3 years with wonderful results. I have taken this generic for almost 3 weeks and have slight heart burn daily. I'm going back to Protonix for results. I too liked the price but if the symptoms return, it's not worth it.

I've been on Protonix for 5 years now and the pharmacy randomly gave me the generic. Sure I was excited at the price, but I've been getting nautious, and I never had that with Protonix. I think I'm going to ask for a switch as well. I see I'm not alone so that's a good thing.

I do have excessive gas however and that is why I am on-line tonight to see if this is common with this drug, or if it's realted to another condition of mine. Jury is still out out that one since this drug is so new.
