Was put on Tarina after Microgestin due to PPHD. I had heavy period-like symptoms in the first few months but the bigger breast size made it worth putting up with. It's been a year and a half and I just realized that all the symptoms I've been feeling is because of this pill. Loss of appetite, I lost almost 30lbs in 3months with no change in diet, EXTREME mood swings like Crying or angry for no re...

I started taking this pill about 3 weeks ago and I am four pills away from my placebo pills. This is the first birth control I have ever used so I wasn't sure what to compare it to. Overall, most side effects I read up on Tarina were true, but we all have different bodies that react differently. My first week on Tarina I experienced awful diarrhea every morning and would wake up incredibly nauseou...

I removed my IUD due to anxiety and started this pill a little over 6 months ago. Initial side effects (yo-yoing between nausea and insatiable appetite) subsided in the middle of the second pack (about 6 weeks in). My period became regular, lighter, and longer (lasts the duration of the inert pills), and cramps are less intense compared to the IUD. Other period symptoms remain the same. My breasts have grown one cup size since I've started taking this pill, but I have not experienced any other bloating or weight gain. I frequently struggle with mental health and find this pill has had little to no emotional effect (excluding during menstruation, which is normal for me). My partner and I have sex completely unprotected (no condom, no pull-out), and this drug has prevented pregnancy. My libido is unaffected by this drug, and I cannot perceive any change in my natural wetness (we always use lube anyway). Bottom line, it's a birth control pill: they all kind of suck, and you just have to try it for a couple of months before you know if it's going to work for you or not. Read More Read Less

Im on my second week of taking this pill, and I'm really not sure what to think. Ever since I started taking it, I always feel nauseas, and bloated. I cant eat or drink anything without feeling like I need to throw it all up. So far, im feeling very emotional all the time. I most definitely wont take this pill anymore.

It seems everyone has very different experiences with this product. This is my first birth control pill and I have to say it's been pretty good for me. I just started the placebo pills in my first pack and the only real side effects I had were mild headaches, nausea, and occasional mood swings. But those symptoms seemed to go away after the first week and a half of taking the pills. After that, I've had no problems at all. I guess that was just my body getting used to it. I'm happy with this product and it hasn't failed me yet so all's well.Read More Read Less

i have been on this medication for three months. the side effects have not subsided. i get sick everytime i eat, experience horrible anxiety, have trouble sleeping, my acne got a lot worse, i experience vaginal dryness during sex, am very irritable almost all the time, and get headaches that last for days. it works for pregnancy control, but otherwise, it makes you feel sick in a lot of different ways. i do not recommend.

Started taking this pill about 3 months ago. Symptoms were excessive bloating every single day, fatigue, periods went from 4 days to 6 even though they were extremely light, loss of sexual desire, breast swelling, weight gain (2 lbs). I guess the pills are super successful as far as not getting pregnant because my desire for sex has gone down tremendously. I won’t be taking any more of these.

This product constantly gave me different symptoms. First, I had long lasting periods that were more painful than before taking them. The pain would last for days without ceasing. Second, I tried skipping my period by skipping the placebo week and I still got my period even while on them. And lastly, now I am starting my period 4-5 days early before I even start the placebos. Tarina is effective but a horrible choice! I am switching my pills asap.

I have been on this for five days now. Honestly, so far it has been great. The last two days I have been getting minor cramping. It's on and off lightning bolt type cramping. So as long as it doesnt get worse or continue then its not too bad. Definitely a few mild mood swings, but this is my first time on birth control and I was expecting it. I havent had any breast tenderness or acne issues. Today, I do feel quite bloated and I know its not because of anything else. Im losing weight for my wedding and I have continued to lose weight on this pill, in the last five days. I am eating very well and working out three times a week. So I am hoping this does continue. I will update when I am on it for longer. Cross your fingers!Read More Read Less

I started taking this pill about 3 weeks ago and I am four pills away from my placebo pills. This is the first birth control I have ever used so I wasn't sure what to compare it to. Overall, most side effects I read up on Tarina were true, but we all have different bodies that react differently. My first week on Tarina I experienced awful diarrhea every morning and would wake up incredibly nauseous. The nausea has subsided, but the diarrhea symptoms persist sometimes. Week 2 was the week I should've started my period, so I experienced light spotting and cramp like symptoms the first couple of days, and then the spotting got heavier and heavier like my period so at one point I had to use my super tampons. This continued on for the whole seven days of week 2, and three pills into week 3 I am experiencing light spotting after I use the bathroom. As far as moodiness, this pill has made me ultra sensitive and very cranky at times. I have gotten into some pretty awful fights with my boyfriend since starting this pill and I feel like this pill is to blame for my mood swings and sensitivity. I have also noticed a decrease in my sex drive and vaginal dryness during sex. Also, as someone who has struggled with acne her whole life I was worried this pill would mess with my skin. I can say for myself I haven't experienced any out of the ordinary pimples except for a couple on my forehead here and there which is a spot on my face that is usually very clear, but it's really nothing to complain about at all. My breasts experience slight swelling like how they are when you are on your period, but I have not seen them really increase in size which is something I was hoping for to be honest lol. Overall, I can say that Tarina is a decent BC that I'm still trying out, but for now it does the job. We all have different bodies so don't let someone else's horror or success stories sway your opinion on a pill, because chances are your experience may be completely different!Read More Read Less

When I first started taking Tarina FE, I noticed regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. The first month I had debilitating cramps, acne, incredibly sore breasts, bruising, upset stomach and a 3 week period. The second month, same thing only the more I took the pill, the more emotional I became. I was crying for no reason, depressed, overly emotionally reactive, and had terrible cramps, and again a 3 week period. Everyone's body is different, but I had such a severe reaction to this pill I stopped immediately. Read More Read Less

I haven't seen acne, weight gain, or any breast/genital pains with this pill. For the first two months, my period remained on the same cycle as before taking the pill, but then my body adjusted. Sometimes, I will get my period while taking the pills and during the week of inactive pills I won't get my period. There have been months where no period has come at all. I have noticed that I have mood swings all the time, and I have to really, really try to be in the mood to have sex (romantic feelings and finding my boyfriend attractive still remain, but I just have a really low sex drive in comparison to before the pill). I've only been taking this pill for about 2 weeks now and honestly it's nothing but pain. My sex drive is way way down, my stomach hurts a lot after a few hours, and I've been on my period for 10 days. Also got a UTI from taking this pill. I've been very emotional and needy taking this pill. I most definitely will not be using this any longer.

I have been taking Tarina for about two months. So far, I had two noticeable side effects. I was a little bit moodier during the first two weeks or so of use, but that did go away quite quickly. I've also had quite a bit of spotting. About a week before my inactive pills, I've had about 10 days of spotting and light cramping during both months of use. My acne hasn't gotten worse, but I will say that it hasn't gotten better. Unlike the other two birth controls I've used, I didn't gain any weight or have any swelling or tenderness of my breasts, which honestly makes this kind with it.Read More Read Less

The worst pill ever!!! I started this pill on Jan 4th. I still have my regular, original periods and no bleeding after finishing the monthly dose. I already have UTI, Yeast infection, painful breast, itchy vagina, my sexual mood is deep low. My behavior changed, I am emotional and sensitive, I am a real drama Queen... I am in the middle of my second monthly dose and I have my original period even if I would never have taken any BC pills.... I had a stupid fight with my BF this morning again and he finally put the Tarina pills to the trash where they belong to. My body and relationship with him are more important than these pills. I absolutely do not recommend to anyone!Read More Read Less

Terrible pill. Worst I've ever been on and I've tried many different brands of birth control pills. I was on Ortho Tricyclen for years and it was amazing. No side effects, regular monthly periods and great effectiveness. NOT with Tarina..I've been taking this pill for 2 months because i moved to a new state and the local planned parenthood wanted to charge me $70 a month for my ortho pills. She told me tarina was a good alternative...NOT. these pills give me the worst breast tenderness, nausea almost every day that I barely eat but yet I've somehow gained 10 pounds in 2 months...wtf. I havent been moody but ive been so tired and just feel blah. Finishing my current pack then getting on something else ASAP. Everyone has different reactions to it but in my experience, this is the worst pill ever.Read More Read Less

I recently took a Plan B, then went to the doctor and got on Tarina Fe 1/20 and started using it 5 days after I took the plan B. I have been taking Tarina Fe 1/20 for 8 days now, but the last 2 days have been awful. I have been so nauseous and bloated. Then I have bouts where I have abdominal pain. It reminds me of getting punched in the stomach. These types of side effects have never happened to me before, and I've been on and off different forms of birth control for 10 years now. I've scheduled an appointment with my doctor to get on a different type because I feel really terrible. I wouldn't say I have mood swings but the pain has put me in a sort of weak mood.Read More Read Less

Horrible. THey switched me only because they stopped carrying Ortho Tricyclene. (Thanks a lot Planned Parenthood). That worked amazingly for years. This stuff> I am bloated, and constantly have my period and am sore on and off.... Mood swings and its halted my weight loss despite working out very hard and dieting well. Dont use this crap.
