This was a pre med pumped into my chemo port. Before receiving the chemo ac aka red devil. And I had the rare severe allergic reaction which felt initially like burning in my chest breathing got very very difficult like my chest felt heavy Then it spread to my head turned my face cherry red and burned my skin and then I passed out and came to in a different position with my head down and nurses around me open iv saline bag and injections of solumedrol and benedryl. It was scary but I had a fast turn around with rescue meds. I can only say thank goodness I was given this in the infusion center and not as a pill at home. I have never had a severe reaction to any medication before and was hoping to find info on what specifically could have been the cause so I can look out for other things in the future.
