I was taking this for a cracked tooth which I was waitng the insurance to give ok to extract it.Severe pain its been two weeks now still waiting.I cant take clindamycin any longer was on it for 3 days and have cold sweats headaches bedriddin along with the sever pain on a tooth efecting my head neck ears and cant eat.I am allergic to penicillin anddont think I should of been givin this to began wi ... I was taking this medication for cellulitis in my mouth and a abscess. Didn't seem to be working at first for my face and neck just swelled into a big balloon. Well eventually I went into the ER for the swelling and ended up a week in the hospital with clindamycin via IV 600 mg. This is a drug from hell. Diarrhea on day 3 of a 10 day course. Still have 3 watery movements/day a week after finishing. On the day I finished, I broke out in a full body, very itchy rash. Ended up having to take a steroid shot. My back look like it had been sunburned it was so covered. Rash faded a week later. I'm monitoring the c-diff. I began taking this medication for an infection in my gums. One day in I developed an enormous abscess inside of my mouth. Woke up with severe swelling on my face. The pain was unbearable. I wanted the infection to clear up and subside the pain from my mouth so I continued taking it. Then I developed headaches, fatigue and worse - extreme diarrhea and bloating. Taken this three times total. First was initial infection of left parotid gland. Second and third infections of left submandibular gland 6 months apart, 3 years after parotid. Very satisfied with this medicine. Worked flawlessly for me. Currently on the third 'event' on day #6 of 10 day antibiotics. So far the third is clearing up nicely.
