Question:

I was wondering if women can experience wet dreams. I have since I was in high school. As I got older and started to have sex they stopped, but now I notice that when I'm not getting sex very often I start having them again. It's really weird -- I am extremely aroused in the dream, the dream only lasts for a few seconds, and I orgasm and wake up as it happens. It's the coolest thing. I mentioned it to my boyfriend some time ago, and he had never heard of it (but was very aroused by it!) I've never heard of this happening and am just wondering if I'm weird.

Answer:

I recall that one study found about 33% of women have some kind of sleeping orgasm. In the study, the younger women reported it more often than the older women. Suppression of memories of older women? Liberalized attitudes of younger women? I don't know why.
